43d Maintenance Squadron Unit Emblem Significance Statement

The emblem is symbolic of the squadron and its mission.  On a disc of the Air Force colors, ultramarine blue and golden yellow (to indicate a modern Air Force unit), a gear wheel symbolizes the maintenance career field of the unit and each cog represents a major section.  The futuristic flight symbol indicates the progress of modern day aircraft and missiles, its nose representing the five major branches of the unit and pointing toward and supporting the maintenance and supervision section located near the nose of the flight symbol.  The two rows of stars, grouped four and three, identify the parent unit.

Approved: 22 May 1982

Motto: Ne Plus Ultra...Latin for Nothing but the Best
