Here are some key tips and information for those that are new to the
military life and new to Pope AFB.

New Spouses

--Obtain your military ID card and enroll in DEERS (Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System) at MPF (Military Personnel Flight).  Make sure you bring your CERTIFIED marriage certificate with you, a picture ID, and social security card.  If children are involved, then you will need to bring in their CERTIFIED birth certificate, social security card, and any court documents (divorce decrees, custody papers, adoption decrees).

--Enroll in Tri-Care for Health and Dental Insurance by visiting Womack Army Medical Center on Ft. Bragg or the Tri-Care satellite office on Pope AFB

--Establish new medical records at the base Military Treatment Facility

--Don't forget to get a decal for your vehicle!!  That + your ID card gives you access to base and its services!

--Attend the Heart Link Program-an orientation offered once per quarter to new spouses!
Call the Family Support Center to register 394-2538.

NOTE: Active Duty spouses should update DD Form 93 (Record Emergency Data), change name (if applicable), update MILPDS, change BAS/BAH entitlements, indicate beneficiary on SGLI, complete AF Form 357 (Family Care Plan, if applicable), update wills/power of attorney.
